No Shame, No Filter: Tori Lyons Brings Raw New Comedy to The Riverfront Newport
If you’re after a night at the theatre that’s equal parts hilarious, honest and just a little bit outrageous, then make a note in your diary—because something special is landing at The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre this May.
From scratch night to centre stage
What began as a bold work-in-progress has grown into a fully realised production, as Tori Lyons brings her unapologetically frank one-woman show My Normal F**king Sex Life to life from Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 May.
This isn’t your standard comedy night. It’s raw, it’s chaotic, and it doesn’t shy away from the things we’re usually too embarrassed to say out loud.
A story that’s as funny as it is fearless
At 31, newly single and facing her first STI diagnosis, Tori finds herself in a situation many would rather avoid discussing altogether. What follows is a whirlwind of awkward questions, past relationships, questionable decisions and deeply relatable moments.
Through sharp wit and disarming honesty, the show dives headfirst into conversations around sex, safety and self-worth—subjects often brushed under the carpet. Expect to laugh, cringe, and quite possibly recognise a bit of yourself along the way.
A full-circle moment
There’s something rather lovely about this production’s journey. The show first took shape during CULTIVATE, The Riverfront’s scratch night for new ideas, where artists test material in front of live audiences. Since then, the venue has supported Tori every step of the way—through development, rehearsals, and even creating the show’s visuals.
Now, nearly three years on, it returns to the very stage where it all began—only bigger, bolder, and ready for a full audience.
About the artist
Tori Lyons, originally from South Wales, is quickly making a name for herself across theatre and screen, with writing credits for BBC Wales and her debut short film Justice entering the 2026 festival circuit. Her work often blends comedy with deeply personal storytelling, tackling complex and sometimes taboo topics with warmth and humour.
Don’t miss it
Whether you’re drawn in by the candid storytelling, the comedy, or simply the curiosity of what unfolds, My Normal F**king Sex Life promises a memorable night out.
Performances run from 21–23 May (ages 14+).
