Chasing Light: New Cardiff Art Exhibition Celebrates Welsh Landscapes and Creative Mentorship
Cardiff’s vibrant arts scene continues to thrive this summer with Chasing Light, a new art exhibition in Cardiff bringing together two local painters inspired by the beauty of the Welsh landscape. Cardiff-based artist Becky Hodgkin presents a collection of acrylic paintings that capture the mood and movement of the Welsh coastline and countryside. Balancing a full-time career in marketing within the cybersecurity sector, Becky paints during early mornings and evenings, a commitment that speaks to her dedication and passion for her craft.
The exhibition is a joint show with fellow Cardiff artist Izzy Rossiter, whose illustrative approach explores light and nature from a different perspective. While Becky’s work leans towards expressive landscape painting, Izzy’s pieces bring a softer, more detailed interpretation of the natural world, creating a thoughtful contrast between the two artists.

Izzy Rossiter was once Becky’s art teacher, having guided her through a painting class when she returned to art last summer. The pair stayed in touch, with Izzy becoming an important mentor.
