Spring has arrived, and with the Easter holidays just around the corner, there’s a fantastic range of family-friendly events taking place across South Wales. From outdoor adventures and creative workshops to theatre shows and live music, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this April.

Outdoor Adventures and Nature Activities

Families keen to get outdoors should visit Bryngarw House and Country Park, a beautiful setting with over 100 acres of woodland, gardens and meadows to explore . Find out more here:

During the Easter holidays, the park is hosting its popular Wildlife Wednesdays, ranger-led sessions designed to help children discover nature in a fun and hands-on way . Upcoming activities include:

• Mini beast hunt – 1st April

• Pond dipping – 8th April

These sessions are perfect for curious young explorers wanting to learn more about the natural world.

Elsewhere, Greenmeadow Community Farm is running Easter activities from the end of March until 12th April, including the popular Easter Bunny Academy Trail from 1st to 6th April.

You can also visit Amelia Trust Farm for their Big Easter Event, running from the end of March until 3rd April, offering a variety of seasonal family activities.

Theatre, Music and Live Performances

For those looking for entertainment, there are plenty of shows taking place across the region.

At the renowned Wales Millennium Centre, Play Opera Live takes place on 18th April, offering an engaging and interactive introduction to opera.

Over in Swansea, Swansea Grand Theatre presents the classic pantomime Aladdin from 2nd to 4th April, packed with humour, music and audience participation.

Music fans can head to Newport Live on Friday 3rd April for Sweet and Sour – The Ultimate Tribute to Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo.

Creative Workshops and Hands-On Activities

For children who enjoy arts and crafts, Peggy’s Pots is hosting a range of creative workshops across its locations at Goodsheds Barry and The Boneyard in Canton.
