Cardiff welcomes international immersive artists

This October, Cardiff once again becomes the meeting point for artists, technologists and innovators working at the forefront of immersive media, as FDUK 2026 returns to Wales for two days of screenings, discussions, performance and creative exchange.

Presented in partnership with CULTVR Lab, the UK's pioneering XR arts centre, Fulldome UK will host the latest edition of the country's longest running immersive arts festival on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October 2026. The event will celebrate the growing global ecosystem of fulldome and frameless media, showcasing groundbreaking work created for immersive environments.

Across two packed days, audiences will experience a programme featuring international speaker panels, industry workshops, live performances, networking opportunities and exclusive screenings from the FDUK 2026 Official Selection. The festival offers a rare opportunity to discover new developments in immersive storytelling while connecting with artists, producers, researchers and creative practitioners from around the world.

This year's Official Selection includes 38 immersive films from 16 countries, highlighting a diverse range of creative voices, artistic approaches and technological innovation from across the international fulldome community.

The festival welcomes a broad mix of participants including filmmakers, musicians, producers,technologists, artists, researchers and cultural organisations, creating an inclusive environment for collaboration, experimentation and knowledge sharing.

FDUK is organised by producing studios GaiaNova (London), 4Pi Productions (Cardiff), United VJs (Brazil) and the Dome Agency (Bradford). The festival is also a founding partner of the Best of Earth Awards, an international alliance of leading fulldome festivals including FullDome Festival in Jena (Germany), Dome Fest West in Los Angeles (USA), Dome Under Festival in Melbourne (Australia),SAT Fest in Montréal (Canada) and Brno Fulldome Festival (Czech Republic).

FDUK 2026 has received funding and support from the Welsh Government through Creative Wales.

The full programme of live performances, talks, workshops and special events will be announced at a later date, with further details released in the lead-up to the festival.
